Evaluating a social care innovation programme

October 2023 - Earlier in the year Peter Cheer and Bridget Warr completed an evaluation of East Riding of Yorkshire Council's Social Care Innovation Programme (SCIP). Our report has now been published and includes valuable learning about how to support care providers with digital applications. In particular, the programme supported each service to implement a digital innovation that they themselves had identified as being the most useful, and this really helped with adoption. Learning from SARs

May 2023 - In his role as an Associate Consultant at the Institute of Public Care (IPC), and working with the Director of IPC, Fiona Richardson, Peter authored this discussion paper on how care providers can learn from Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARs). The paper highlights relevant learning from an informal review of 60 SARs published in 2022, and it argues that there should be a mechanism to identify and share with care services the most relevant learning from SARs across the country. At just ten pages it is a very readable document. Please click here or on the image to download from the IPC website.
